Insurance policies are a way of protecting ourselves against unforeseen circumstances. We are all familiar with home insurance and contents insurance, but we sometimes fail to recognise the importance of income protection insurance.

The costs of not having income protection insurance can represent the ultimate financial burden. We work to build a life for ourselves and guarantee an income so that we live the way we have become accustomed. If we become ill or injured, this hampers our ability to sustain this lifestyle and can leave us seriously exposed to financial turmoil.

In some cases your employer may cover you against illness or injury for a given period of time. Many employers won’t have any type of comprehensive package in place. If you become injured you don’t the added trauma of financial insecurity.

You can insure up to 60% of your gross monthly income with tax free monthly payments to get you by until you can return to work. It will help to ensure that any burdens like rent or mortgages can remain paid, and it will continue paying out until you are ready to return to work or you retire. We all have regularly monthly outgoings which won’t go away in the event of an accident.

A comprehensive policy like those on offer at Endsleigh will even offer rehabilitation and support on getting back to work.

There are also policies for the self employed. If you work for yourself, your income still needs to be protected. Endsleigh offer policies for this section of society.

Why risk more stress if you fall ill or sustain an injury. Many of us have dependents and their security is of prime importance. Income Protection Insurance gives you the peace of mind that your loved ones – children or spouses – can go on living the life to which they have become accustomed.

Getting debt free in the UK is not as hard as most people make it out to be. Here are some of the top tips on getting debt free in the UK!

Make A Budget
The first thing you should do is make a budget. Even if you are not focusing on paying off your debts, you should be following a budget. Very few people use a budget, but if they did, they would not be in the situation they are currently in. a budget is an indispensible tool in life – learn how to make and use one effectively.

Be Honest With Yourself
It is so important to be completely honest with yourself. Most of the time, people start to make excuses for themselves or put a bias on things. Don’t try to justify things to make yourself feel good. If you are making a mistake, admit it, change it, and move on. Lying to yourself gets you nowhere.

Don’t Give Up
Finally, never give up. This seems so cliché, but so many people give up right before they make a breakthrough. No one ever got anywhere in life by giving up. Make a plan, stick to it, and don’t quit. When you don’t quit, you will be amazed with what you can do!

Get a Managed Bank Account
Managed accounts are a relatively new option to help prevent people getting into debt, or to help those who are recently debt free to stay that way. Most of the well-known high street banking groups offer managed bank accounts. You will be looking at paying an extra fee for this but knowing someone is looking after your money is worth the cost and great for those who need that help with money management.

If you follow the above tips, becoming debt free in the UK isn’t really that hard. Do yourself a favor and start your journey to a debt free life in the UK today!

If you lack money then there are certain things that you could do in order to save money like reducing your expenses. It could be that you are using a landline and a mobile phone. Since you are out of the house in most times of the day then it would be prudent to stop paying for subscription fees of a landline phone in order to lower your monthly phone bills.

Or, if you have an extra room in your house then you could rent the room. You may also apply for a second job or work overtime on certain days to increase your income. If you still lack money or don’t have enough to pay the mortgage then ask debt advice from a Shelter who has dealt with repossession cases.

Talk to lenders and advisors about your situation and be really honest about it. Tell them how much you can really afford. Lenders need to know that you can pay them a certain amount regularly. Tell the lenders that you sought debt advice from expert advisors to show that you really want to make matters better. You can find advice and information at the Debt & Loan Info centre online.

Most people like the idea of being debt free in the UK. But, many people think that it will take years and years to achieve that, and they would rather live in the moment. But, getting out of debt in the UK doesn’t have to hake as long as you think it does.

You see, the amount of time it takes to get out of debt in the UK is all about how much money you make, how large your current debt is, and how many sacrifices you are willing to make to pay off your debt. Remember, it is going to be difficult to maintain your current lifestyle when you are paying off your debt, but if you plan it right, you wont have to sacrifice that much and you will be able to get debt free in a very short period of time. It is a good idea to do a monthly budget to find out how much you are currently making and spending – once you get that information, it wont be that difficult to set a time goal for you to determine when you will be debt free in the UK.

You should not let the time factor get in the way of you paying off your debt in the UK. The longer you wait, the more you will have to pay. Don’t waste any more time – start planning to pay off your debt today!

Here you will learn a few tips about how to deal with your unsecured creditors should you find yourself in the uncomfortable position of finding it difficult or impossible to keep up your agreed repayments. This is known as a debt management plan. Although in theory it is possible to do this for yourself, you might find that you would benefit from the help of a professional debt manager

You should note that the information provided here refers only to your unsecured creditors which are lenders such as credit card companies, your store cards, student loans, and other loans such as overdrafts or personal loans. Secured loans such as your mortgage, rent arrears or car hire purchase agreements should be your first priority and you should ensure that you deal with these first.

The first tip is what not to do: do not in any circumstances ignore letters or phone calls from your unsecured creditors. Contact them as soon as you can even if it is just to tell them that you are trying to work things out and will get back to them within a few days with suggestions about what you are going to do.

At the same time you can ask them to at least temporarily freeze the interest and late repayment charges that they are adding to your loan.

Also, request that they do not initiate any proceeding against you such as insolvency or Count Court actions and that they put a hold on any such proceedings they might have already initiated.

Be honest about your circumstances and how you see they might pan out over the coming months. For instance if you have lost your job, you can indicate how long it will be before you expect to get a new one.

Keep notes of everything that is said by both parties, and as soon as you have ended the call, write a letter to them that restates the conversation and everything that was agreed.

You need to work out how much you can afford to repay towards your loans and you should distribute what you can afford evenly amongst them pro-rata to how much you owe.

Set out your offer in a letter to each of your creditors and include evidence that this is a realistic offer by including a detailed budget of your income and outgoings and list your debts to other creditors.

Established in 1993, Gregory Pennington is quite simply one of the founders of Debt Management in the UK. They’re dedicated and expert team have helped over 100,000 people with a wide range of financial difficulties, and they provide guidance, practical assistance, and a straightforward way of helping you to pay off your debts. With a staff count of over 300, their financial advisors currently have 40,000 people on their Debt Management programme.

What are the benefits of turning to someone like Gregory Pennington for a debt management plan? Well, you’ll only pay what you can afford, and furthermore, you can consolidate all your debts into one single, affordable, monthly payment. Their plans are tailor-made to suit the customer, and their advisors will find a monthly payment that is right for you, after addressing what you’ll need to live on, and what you’re essential outgoings are. Most importantly, Gregory Pennington deal with the creditors, not you, so you won’t receive letters or phone-calls. They deal with the paperwork, they do the hard work. Gregory Pennington aim to freeze or reduce interest and charges, which is something that many people struggle with on top of debt, and their strong working relationships with the major creditors mean that whilst they’re not obliged to, creditors will often freeze or reduce interest charges when dealing with Gregory Pennington.

Once on the Debt Management Programme you’ll have your own Personal Finance Manager who is available to give expert help and guidance whenever you need it. Although, repaying your debt over a longer period of time may increase the amount you pay, you’ll be debt free, and your financial worries will be behind you. So why not visit www.gregorypennington.com, and get the ball rolling on your debt free life.

If you don’t tell the lender about your financial woes and you fail to make repayments they might take the matters to court. You will receive an Initial Writ which requires a respond within 21 days and to speak to a solicitor immediately.

The court makes the final decision on whether your home should be repossessed or not. It is important to prove that the lender’s demand is reasonable or you will lose your home. But before this happens, communicating to your lender and letting him know your financial situation will show your desire to pay them. If you cannot afford a solicitor, CAB, Shelter or the Scottish Legal Aid Board can offer you free debt advice. Their debt advice is crucial to your case.

Almost everyone in the UK has some form of debt. But, why is it that they have so much trouble becoming debt free? What is keeping them back from achieving their financial goals?

Lack of Quality Jobs
It is no secret that it is extremely difficult to find a well paying job in the UK. It was hard before, but with the current deteriorating economic climate today, it is even harder. When people decide to take on a mortgage or a loan, they are pretty sure that they will have a reliable job for a long period of time. But, when you lose a job, or when your wages don’t keep up with inflation, you fall behind and don’t make very much progress.

Lack of Knowledge
Some people in the UK are just unaware of what it takes to become debt free, and don’t know how to manage their money well. This is not a problem just in the UK, it is a problem all around the world. If people took more interest in financial planning and learned how to save and live on a budget, there wouldn’t be this widespread epidemic of unpaid debts.

There are many more possible reasons as to why people in the UK struggle to get debt free. But, if you put your mind to it, getting debt free in the UK is not as hard as you think. Do some research, formulate a plan, and get going today!

A lot of people in the UK wonder if it is actually possible to get debt free. Sure, in theory it is possible. But, how probable is it that you will get out of debt? Well, every case is different, but getting debt free in the UK isn’t as hard as most people think.

All it really takes is an action plan, some hard work, and a bit of patience. That’s it. If you spend some time coming up with a debt management action plan, stick to it, reevaluate it at specified time intervals, and be patient, you can be out of debt in a very short period of time.

The problem most people in the UK have is that they are not smart about paying down their debts and really see no end in sight. With high interest rates, most of the payments people make is going to cover the interest, and very little of the principle amount is being reduced. When this happens, people cant help but be discouraged and feel it is impossible to get debt free.

Getting debt free in the UK is a very realistic goal if you know how to approach it and put all your effort into it. With a little bit of planning, hard work, and patience, you will be amazed with what you can do with your current salary. Don’t hesitate to do everything it takes to pay down your debt – you will be glad you did!
